1.)  Noche de Reyes – Twelfth Night

Noche de Reyes” is a Christmas comedy released in 2001. There are business decisions, marital affairs, and misunderstandings throughout the story. The movie takes place mostly at night, hence the title.

The film is full of disasters and sincerities. However, “Noche de Reyes” gives you a close-up view of modern-day Spanish family life. It’s an entertaining film with believable characters with comedy.

2.)  Los Reyes Magos – The Three Wise Men

Los Reyes Magos” is a heartwarming biblical Spanish animated film released in Spain in 2003 and later in the US in 2020. The film is based on the nativity story.  The three Kings (known as the Magi) are set out to deliver the gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh to baby Jesus and must overcome King Herod’s plan to stop them. The king is jealous of baby Jesus because he was called the king of Bethlehem and ordered to kill him. This modern-day remake of biblical legend is inspiring and family-friendly.

3.)  Santa Claus

Santa Claus” is a classic Mexican fantasy film released in 1959.  Santa works in space and battles a demon named Pitch sent to Earth by Lucifer to murder Santa and spoil Christmas.

Watch “Santa Claus” for an unusual Christmas classic. The English-dubbed version was released in 1960 in the US. Available to watch in Spanish and English on your favorite bilingual streaming services.

4.) Operación Regalo – Arthur Christmas

Operación Regalo”  is a popular animated Christmas comedy movie released in 2011.  Set on Christmas eve and the story is about Santa’s clumsy son Arthur Claus. Arthur discovers that his father’s high-tech ship has failed to deliver one girl’s present. He sets out on a mission to personally deliver the girl’s gift in just two hours to save the little girl’s Christmas, accompanied only by his free-spirited and reckless grandfather, an eager young Christmas elf, and a team of reindeer.

5.)  El  Expreso Polar  – Polar Express

El Expreso Polar” is an animated heartwarming musical film released in 2004 in the US and was also dubbed in Spanish to release in Spanish-speaking countries.  Set on Christmas eve and a young boy who takes the Polar Express to the North Pole. During his magical journey, the youngster learns about friendships, bravery, gains faith, and discovers the true meaning of Christmas.
