The World’s First Bionic Goose

Not quite the object of science-fiction movies, but futuristic nonetheless – we present you the world’s first bionic goose. In a first operation of its kind, vets in the UK have fitted a two-week old gosling with a bionic leg.

The female gosling, nicknamed Betty, was found at Watermead, Buckinghamshire with her leg broken. During the operation, she was fitted with steel pins, nuts and bolts that held in place a small leg brace, which soon enabled the little orphan to resume hopping around. Betty is currently being treated at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Buckinghamshire, from which she’s expected to be released back to nature in a few weeks.
