Nokia’s MD-7W Bluetooth Speakers

Nokia and D & M Premium Sound Solutions recently unveiled the new MD-7W Bluetooth speakers at the 2008 CES Exhibit in Las Vegas. “A big sound in a small package” is what they promise to deliver. The speakers’ 3D stereo sound and dynamic bass control guarantee strong bass performance. The new MD-7W Bluetooth speakers are part of Nokia’s Nseries products line.

Nokia’s new Nseries consists of a range of enhancements designed to optimize and improve portable devices. Among these are Nokia’s Bluetooth lightweight GPS Module LD-4W, the Bluetooth Headset BH-902, and the Nokia Power Pack DC-1, which serves as a portable power reserve package.

The Bluetooth MD-7W speakers are quite compact, weighing only 318g and measuring 52x105x66mm. Powered by 4 AA batteries or by Nokia’s AC-4Travel Charger, these speakers promise to deliver wireless high-quality stereo sound. In addition, they can be attached magnetically, making them even more convenient.

The Bluetooth speakers can be used with any compatible Nokia phone or music device. The MD-7W has multiple interfaces such as Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, A2DP, and an AVRCP remote volume control that can be controlled from one’s phone. Power and battery status can be viewed via a LED indicator. The estimated price tag for these speakers is around 130 euros.

In 2006, TFOT coveredNokia’s Wibree cost-effective, short range, wireless technology. Wibree’s technology allows the connection of small, low power devices, such as watches and sport sensors, to larger devices such as mobile phones and personal computers.
