Available for purchase only in early 2007, the WidgetStation, developed by the Korean company emTrace Technologies, is a unique clock, countdown timer, and alarm clock accurate up to one millisecond that has already won the 2007 International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award.

Although some aspects of the Widget Station hardware have been disclosed, such as the incorporation of built-in flash memory, Touch Sensitive Interface, USB2 connectivity, and Ethernet controller, it is not clear whether the device will have WIFI connectivity or will require internet connection. What for? Its side-by-side LCD screens, one monochrome and the other full color, display different types of customizable Widgets – small applications that a user can download or create to perform a myriad of tasks such as displaying world time, photos, internet content such as news, radio, stock quotes, and weather forecasts, RSS feeds, and playing music MP3 or MIDI files to wake you up. …If only it made coffee…
