The annual Hexapod dance contest, held at the Hagenberg Campus of the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, features six-legged robots competing against one another to win the prestigious “Best Dancer” title. The robots show off their dancing skills by tapping their robotic feet and swinging their bodies to the music beat, and are being judged based on both dance complexity and artistic design. Since any robot is solidly stable when standing on only three legs, the six-legged dancers can perform some impressive dance maneuvers, including the once so popular ‘Robot’ move.
