This BBC documentary tries to look back at the conditions faced by dinosaurs before their extinction. The global darkness, which covered the planet right after the famous asteroid impact, destroyed all vegetation for a time. This meant an unavoidable death to plant-eating, and consequently, to carnivorous dinosaurs. However, scientists now suggest that dinosaurs were already “dwindling” under pressure from a worsening environment, saying that “massive volcanism and falling sea levels might have forced them into extinction, even if the asteroid would have missed.”
