The new Nokia N97 showcased by the company for the first time at CES 2009 is the company’s flagship model for 2009. This advanced SmartPhone uses a large 3.5-inch, 640 x 360 pixel display with resistive touch technology (which allows for users to wear gloves while using the phone) and comes with 32 GB of on-board memory (with the ability to add at least 16 GB more using microSD). The Nokia N97 comes equipped with a 5-Megapixel camera (using Carl Zeiss optics), Bluetooth, WiFi, A-GPS, and a very interesting addition – an electronic compass which always shows “true-north.” The price is going to be around €) 550 depending on the mobile phone carrier (the U.S. price has not been announced at this point).

I’m just so happy its finally official. Since we all have to wait for
its release, Im just gonna wait for the unlocked verison that is going
to be released

The touch interface is nothing close to what you will get on the
iPhone and HTC and like all their attempts to introduce a flow sense
with touch Nokia only succeeds in being very sticky. But it is better
than what I had anticipated, of course I would have loved the device
if it had motion sensor and four way screen shifting. The integration
of a physical keyboard was a very good move and Nokia should stick to
those as it makes browsing and typing really effective. I have also
used their latest Express Music, which is the same thing minus the
keyboard and other functions [of course the cost too] but without the
keyboard, the device is an ultimate fail.
