Check out some of the highlights of this year's Maker Faire. First held by Make Magazine in 2006, the event celebrates "arts, crafts, engineering, science projects, and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. Maker Faire 2008 was packed with some impressive robots, which battled each other in the first ever RoboGames Texas Cup, which featured participants from the US and Canada fighting for victory in five different weight divisions. Among the contestants, some of whom were equipped with flame throwers, spinning blades, pneumatic flippers, and other destructive tools, was the 340lb "Ziggy" and the fire-breathing "Texas Heat".
