Toyota has unveiled a violin-playing robot, which the company says is part of its efforts to achieve the development of a series of machines that would be able to assist people in a variety of everyday tasks. The robotic musician, which was demonstrated at a Tokyo news conference, was shown to produce impressively accurate tunes - holding the violin in one arm and moving the bow with another. Moreover, it can move the fingers of its left hand at the violin's neck and so produce a tremolo effect. You are welcome to read the complete TFOT coverage of this invention here.
