LIGO - The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory is a facility dedicated to the detection and research of cosmic gravitational waves. The site offers resources for the press & media as well as resources for both students and educators. One can read LIGO-related information, such as the way LIGO Sheds Light on a Cosmic Event and the Advanced LIGO Project, an upgrade in sensitivity for LIGO that was approved by the National Science Board.  The LIGO Laboratory homepage can be referred to for additional information.
