The MIT Museum is an intimate museum, which has received one of the 2007 Boston Globe "Best of the New" awards for the museum's recent expansion. At the museum's website one can find information about ongoing and changing exhibitions on science and technology, such as The Mark Epstein Innovation Gallery, and Flashes of Inspiration: The Work of Harold Edgerton. Holography: The Light Fantastic, is an exhibition that features a sampling of twenty-three historic holograms from the MIT Museum holography collection. In addition, a variety of programs and special events are offered. The museum houses over one million artifacts, prints, rare books, technical archives, drawings, photographs, films, and holograms, dating from the 7th century BCE to today.
