The Thomas A. Edison Papers website is an ambitious project that began in 1978 with the intention of editing and bringing to the general public the massive amount of documents that chronicle the life and achievements of Thomas Alva Edison. Aside for his detailed biography and chronology, the website contains details of his many inventions, including the electric generator, the electric lamp, motion pictures, and the storage battery. One can also read about the American patent system, in which Edison the inventor matured, and view various documents from the on-line editions of the Thomas A. Edison papers. This includes links to Edison’s idea books, design journals, cartoons, and clippings from his scrapbooks.
