The Galileo Project is a growing source of information on the life and work of Galileo Galilei (1564-1642). In the science section, one can find records of the other scientists and scientific institutions from Galileo's period, such as Simon Marius, Santorio Santorio, and Vincenzo Viviani. An intriguing section deals with the inquisition and contains biographies of important church figures. One can also read about different patrons of Galileo, including the Duke of Mantua and the Medici family. At the library section, it is interesting to look at a catalog containing a collection of 631 detailed biographies on members of the scientific European community during the 16th and 17th centuries, with vital facts about each individual and their contributions to science.
