Produced by PBS, in Nova's Galileo website one can find an illustrated chronology of Galileo's life and work, an article on Galileo's role as the father of modern science, an explanation about Galileo's (and Sir Isaac's) telescope and Galileo's mistake about the way the tides work. In addition, an interactive section allows surfers to sample Galileo's thought experiments and conduct virtual versions of his experiments. The experiments include falling objects- Galileo's proof that light objects fall just as quickly as heavy objects, inclined planes – in which he calculated the rate of acceleration due to gravity, and the pendulum experiment.
