The Cool-er uses E-Ink, a new technology that enables screens to have a "like paper" display, replicating the experience of reading a hard-copy book. Using power only for "button clicks" means that a single charge can last for up to 8000 pages and unlike a book, the electronic display allows the user to change the text size.
Cool-er supports both Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. At present Cool-er does not support file transfer from Linux based computers. It is also plug and play compatible, where just through the use of a USB cable, users are able to download an e-book. The straightforward navigation system on the Cool-er is designed for intuitive use with clear-cut click through menus and unlike other e-readers, COOL-ER supports 9 file formats in viewing both text and multimedia files such as images and music. (Source: Cool Readers)
