The LS-10's size is 131.5 mm x 48 mm x 22.4 mm and it weighs 165 grams, making it very compact and easy to carry around. It is powered by 2 AA Alkaline, Lithium, or NiMH batteries and is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. The LS-10 can also function as a USB flash drive or as a music player, since music can be downloaded to the device via a USB connection and then saved to the SD or SDHC memory cards.

This recording device incorporates built-in stereo speakers and high-sensitivity and low-noise stereo microphones, which contribute to the high quality of the recording. The microphone amplifier circuitry eliminates interferences such as background noises.

The LS-10 offers multiple options for recording audio and transferring music to the recorder, by employing three audio formats - WAV, MP3, and WMA – that differ mainly in their compression (or lack of). In addition, the device has a Zoom Mic option that uses DiMAGIC Virtual Microphone (DVM) technology by DiMAGIC. The technology enables the user to modify the focus of the sound capture.

The software used for editing - Steinberg Cubase LE4 - supports MIDI music production and accepts plug-ins from Virtual Studio Technology (VST). It can create a virtual mixing panel of up to 48 tracks. The estimated price of the LS-10 is $400.
