At the recent Consumer Electronics Show 2008 in Las Vegas, the U.S. Company "Fromm Works" unveiled the Quik Pod, an extendable handheld tripod. Quik Pod allows the photographer to be included in the picture, instead of being left out or having to hand over the camera to strangers. Its extended size (470mm) and built-in self-positioning mirror (that centers each shot) make the tripod ideal for taking pictures on holidays, underwater (with a waterproof camera), or over crowds.

The Quik Pod can be easily carried in a backpack thanks to its small size (only 190mm when retracted) and light weight (100 grams). Constructed out of high quality polycarbonate and aluminum components, this is a highly durable tripod. The Quik Pod can be used with point and shoot, DSLR, and waterproof cameras, and easily attaches to any camera or camcorder through the standard tripod socket.

In order to take large group photos, the Quik Pod can be converted from handheld to table-top mode. The Quik Pod DSLR model is better suited for larger cameras and
camcorders weighing up to 2 lbs. It takes seconds to convert it to a monopod, thereby extending its reach by 53".

TFOT recently covered the Zigview S2 Digital Viewfinder, which is the world's first digital angle viewfinder for digital and film SLR cameras. Targeted at semi-professional and professional photographers, it has a display module that rotates up to 300 degrees and can flip up and down by 180 degrees. TFOT also covered a durable, waterproof, dustproof and shock resistant video camera, called POV. 1 and a new, smart shoulder-mounted camera that can track the movements of the user and move accordingly, recording what the user sees at all times.

More information on the Quik Pod can be found here.
