Hey, you down there in San Diego! This aerial photograph of greater San Diego was snapped from space from a window of the Space Shuttle Atlantis on STS mission 115 to the ISS in September, 2006. The view spans ~50 miles north to south from just below Oceanside at the top of the photograph to Tijuana, Mexico at the bottom. Among other easily discernable landmarks are Torrey Pines, LaJolla, Rt. 52, Interstates 5, 805, 15, and 8.
See a different aerial photograph from space and other photos of STS mission 115 on NASA's website.
