Illinois will get about 2 million of the 45 million doses of swine flu vaccine expected to be available nationwide by mid-October, state health officials said Thursday. First to receive the vaccine will be those at highest risk for complications from the H1N1 flu virus: pregnant women; caregivers of infants under 6 months; health-care workers; children; adults under 24 and adults 25 to 64 who have underlying medical conditions such as asthma and diabetes. Everyone else will have to wait. (source: suntimes.com)
