This week at an arsenal in Huntsville, Ala., defense researchers are testing a new high-power microwave (HPM) bomb—one that creates an electromagnetic pulse capable of disabling electronics, vehicles, guided missiles, and communications while leaving people and structures unharmed. The tests mark the first time such a device has been shrunk to dimensions that could make it portable enough to fit in a missile or carried in a Humvee or unmanned aerial vehicle. Quote: "disabling electronics, vehicles, guided missiles, and communications while leaving people and structures unharmed" On paper ya! But.. What goes up, must come down and what's going 55 - 75MPH on the highway must come to a stop one way or another! Thud, boom, bang, crash. It's only a fact that organic and physical matter isn't effected by the e-bomb, not so much a safety feature. :P Very kewl to see how compact this device is! |
