Robot Planes Take to the Skies

The Ministry of Defence has showcased current and next-generation unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The event was held as part of National Science and Engineering Week - an annual event celebrating science, engineering and technology - and to give manufacturers the chance to show off some of their creations. Military use of UAVs has been growing fast. Twenty years ago, they were a bonus item for the armed forces, now they are seen as an essential part of the modern warrior's arsenal.    (source: news.bbc.co.uk)
