AMD recently rolled out a pair of dual-core Athlons, part of its "Cartwheel" value platform for home PCs. Only one of the parts will be available directly to consumers, however: the AMD Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition processor is available at the system builder price of $79.00. A second part, the Athlon X2 7550, will be available only to OEMs, AMD said, and was not priced; AMD's thinking was that consumers would prefer an unlocked "Black" part to an OEM part with a locked clock multiplier.    (source: pcmag.com)
