Intel Will Deploy Malaysia's First WiMAX

Intel Capital, Intel's global investment arm is investing approximately US$15 million in Green Packet Berhad to kick-start Malaysia's first mobile WiMAX network. The network, targeted to be available beginning in June from Green Packet subsidiary Packet One Networks, will be the first large-scale commercial deployment of mobile WiMAX in Southeast Asia, and the first large-scale deployment of 802.16e WiMAX in the 2.3GHz band outside Korea.    (source: intel.com)
