The New Western Digital WD6400AAKS is a beefed up version of the 320GB on a single platter recently released by the company. Although 750GB and 1TB drives have been selling for over a year, they require 4 or even 5 platters per disk which increases cost, complexity, noise and heat (possibly leading to higher malfunction levels). The new drive will be selling for around $140.    (source: wdc.com)
