Nicholas Chen, from University of Maryland, collaborated with Microsoft Research to create a prototype of a multi-screen e-ink device. Many of us remember the Microsoft Courier which had two dual-touchscreens facing each other in a booklet form factor. The Courier project was canceled but it is possible that the idea behind it lives on.
