Delkin: First USB 3.0 Universal Memory Card Reader

The U.S. company Delkin recently announced the first memory card reader to support USB3. According to the company, the new card reader has the fastest read/write capabilities in the world, as well as support for many most new (and old) memory card types.

The new Delkin USB 3.0 Universal Memory Card Reader includes:

  • USB3 support for ultra fast transfer speeds (up to 5Gbps) as well as USB2 compatibility.
  • Can handle diverse media types including: CF Type I (UDMA), CF Type II (UDMA), SD (all classes), SDHC (all classes) SDXC (all classes), microSD,microSDHC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Micro, MicroDrive, MMC, Memory Stick XC, Memory Stick DUO (HG), Memory Stick PRO (HG), Memory Stick PRO DUO (HG).
  • Compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 / XP / Vista / ME / 2000 (SP4) and Mac OS9 or later.

Despite the extensive specifications, Delkin did not mention whether or not the unit will support the new UHS-I standard from SD cars and the CF6.0 for CF cards.
